Weekly News Updates concerning Landmark HS

Hello,

I hope you enjoyed the beautiful weather this weekend. It's hard to believe we're entering the last full week before Thanksgiving. This is an important time for students to get ready for miniPBATs and PBAT work that will happen during Better Academic Self week, the days before Thanksgiving. Better Academic Self week also has study hall time built in for students to improve their grades before the marking period ends on December 6th. This week, including Parent Teacher Conferences, is a key opportunity for everyone to communicate about what students need to do in order to earn the best grades possible. I'm looking forward to this time of reaching for our best academic selves. Please let me know anything I can do to support.

Best, Susanna

Better Academic Self Week - November 25-27

The week of November 25, the three days before Thanksgiving, we have modified schedules for Better Academic Self week. Better Academic Self week is an opportunity for students to complete more intense and in-depth work in larger blocks.

Grades 9 and 10 will be scheduled to present "mini-PBATs" in small groups, and engage in workshops and study halls. Students have the opportunity to complete "open honors" assignments to reach higher standards in their classes

Grade 11 will have extended workshops for their science and social studies PBATs, as well as a practice SAT exam, or practice ELA Regents for those who will retake it in January

Grade 12 will have intensives for their 4 core classes, and also some grade-wide celebratory events: bowling and Senior breakfast
