translated:

One painter sat on a small boat, crossing a river.

On the boat, the painter asked old fisherman: “Do you understand paintings?” Old fisherman responded and says “ No I don’t understand. ” The painter looked down upon the old fisherman and says: “Then one third of your life has just been deducted.” A while later, painter asked old fisherman once again: “Do you understand music?” Old fisherman shook his head and responded, “I don’t understand.” The painter puts down the fisherman once again and says, “Friend, one third of your life is left.”

After a while, large wind began to form causing the boat to rock and flow, the painter was very frightened. Old fisherman asked the painter, “ Do you know how to swim?” The painter quietly responded, “I don’t know.” As the fisherman heard those words, he responded the painter and says, “ You are about to lose one whole of your life now.”
