My New York Experience Portfolio
Cover Letter:
My name is Leslie and I am a true city girl; I do like the country, but not to live. Most people in New York have great fashion sense, but some don’t care how horrible they look and I have to see those people everyday. New York to me is amazing (some parts). To be honest I don’t see it as a relaxing vacation place but more of a place for tourists to come and take pictures. One thing that really annoys me about the tourists is that they crowd the streets taking pictures and it is really hard to walk around them. I have gone to several trips about the environment. My favorite trip about the environment was Water H20=Life. This trip was about the cycle of water and the exhibit gave us information about different countries and how they have to walk miles to get their water. The trip had interesting facts and games on the computer about water and how much water is wasted each day. Another trip that I liked, even though the tour guy was kind of boring, was Grant’s Tomb. It had to do with Architecture and Landmarks. The trip was about Ulysses S. Grant and how important he was and the important things he did. One day my advisory stayed in on a Friday and we watched a film called “Do The Right Thing “. To be honest I did not like this movie at all. I did not see a point to this movie; it seemed that the people in the movie were stupid and started problems for no reason. Another trip that we took was to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. as a advisory we saw the Greek and Roman Galleries which was great my favorite part was the Roman gallery. After that I went with my mother and saw much more art like paintings and rooms with Victorian furniture it was beautiful. For Me New York, and History I chose The Fashion Institute of Technology which was my favorite trip of all this year. The trip was about fashion and the history of it they had the prettiest dresses except they were missing Marilyn Monroe’s famous white dress if they had it would have been so amazing. All in all there have been good and not so interesting trips.
